“Tsechu” is a traditional festival celebrated in Bhutan, the small Himalayan kingdom in South Asia. The term “tsechu” translates to “tenth day” in the Dzongkha language, which is Bhutan’s official language. The festival commemorates the birth anniversary of Guru Padmasambhava, also known as Guru Rinpoche, who is revered as the second Buddha in Bhutanese Buddhism.

Tsechu festivals are not only religious events but also significant social and cultural gatherings, where communities come together to celebrate, receive blessings, and enjoy traditional performances. They are an integral part of Bhutanese culture and heritage, attracting both locals and tourists alike.
